Dwight Earl Roberts

Troy:  Dwight Earl Roberts, 50, of Des Moines, Iowa and former resident of Troy, Iowa died April 29, 2010 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.  He was born September 1, 1959 in Bloomfield to Arlo D. and Florence E. Smith Roberts.  Dwight graduated from Davis County High School in 1977 and worked as a baker for Perkins Restaurants.  He was a member of the Troy United Methodist Church. He volunteered with the Pony Express and helped raise money for Give Kids the World.

He is survived by his parents, of Troy, Iowa; 2 brothers, Brian (Rhonda) Roberts, Eric (Tammy) Roberts both of Bloomfield; a sister, Julie (Louie) Hill of Darien, Illinois; friend, Greg Falkoski of Des Moines, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating.  Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery in Troy, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 9am on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 4-6pm at the funeral home.  Memorials have been established to Give Kids the World and the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
