Joe Dean Rominger

BLOOMFIELD:  Joe Dean Rominger, 80, of Bloomfield, Iowa died March 29, 2010 at Davis County Hospital Long Term Care in Bloomfield.  He was born January 2, 1930 in Davis County, Iowa to Guy and Pauline N. Botts Rominger.  He married Barbara LuCille Gleason June 4, 1950 in Bloomfield.  Joe owned and operated a gas and service station and later delivered gas to area farms.  He enjoyed trap shooting, playing pool, and bowling.  He also liked going to Knoxville, Iowa to watch the car races with his wife.  He was a member of the Savannah Christian Church and had been attending the West Grove United Methodist Church.  He was a lifetime resident of Davis County.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Billy Joe (Janet) Rominger of Bloomfield, Iowa; 2 daughters, Becky Miller and Bonny (Mike) Davis both of Bloomfield; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, LaVelle Gleason of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Steve Miller; and father-in-law King Gleason.

Funeral services will be at 10am on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Kramer Smith officiating.  Burial will be in the West Grove Cemetery in West Grove, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 2pm on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home.  Memorials have been established to the Savannah Christian Church and the West Grove United Methodist Church.
