Jeana Rysdam

FLORIS: Jeana L. Rysdam, 78, of Floris, Iowa died June 1, 2010 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa.  She was born February 15, 1932 in New Sharon, Iowa to Robert W. and Gertrude Ellen Farr Cowell.  She married Frank A. Rysdam Jr. November 17, 1951 in Lancaster, Missouri.  He preceded her in death April 1, 2007.  Jeana was a homemaker and a farm wife.  She was a member of the Floris Baptist Church.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Trudy (Tim) Tucker of Fairfield, Iowa, Nancy (Craig) Barker of Bloomfield, Iowa, Anita Rysdam of Dodge City, Kansas; 2 sons, Dr. Richard Rysdam of Seattle, Washington, John Rysdam; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara McClure of Malvern, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Marshall Tucker; great-grandson, Eric Tucker; 2 brothers, Perry Max and Glen Cowell; and five sisters, Lorene Ellis, Roberta Baughman, Leona Shinpaugh, Vivian Sullivan and Virginia Beadle.

Funeral services will be at 11am on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastor Gordon Hawkins officiating.  Burial will be in the Floris Cemetery in Floris, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 9am on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Floris Baptist Church and the Floris Fire Department.
