EDWIN SAMMONS

 

UNIONVILLE: Edwin Harry Sammons, 80, of Unionville, Iowa died December 24, 2010 at his home.  He was born September 21, 1930 in Davis County, Iowa to Perry “Pete” and Hester Workman Sammons.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Edwin was a farmer and a lifetime resident of Davis County.

He is survived by two brothers, Wilbur Sammons of Unionville, Iowa, Jerry Sammons of Bloomfield, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Henry, and Kenneth Sammons; and two sisters, Rose Marie and Jannette Sammons.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Wesley Chapel North Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa with Pastor Bill Eakins officiating.  No visitation is planned.
