Evelyn Scott

DRAKESVILLE:  Evelyn Scott, 76, of Drakesville, Iowa died October 23, 2010 at Davis County Hospital Long Term Care.  She was born September 8, 1934 in Troy, Iowa to Lester Clell and Beulah Mae Fidler Ritz.  She married Darrell Dowe Scott October 25, 1952 in Davis County, Iowa.  Evelyn was a member of the Drakesville United Methodist Church and was also a Sunday School Teacher.  She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Davis County.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Randy (Lori) Scott of Albia, Iowa, Ron Scott of Drakesville, Iowa; five daughters, Pam (Donnie) Martin of Bloomfield, Iowa, Rita Johnston of Osage, Iowa, Rhonda Scott of East Moline, Illinois, Shelly (Jon) Stansberry of Moulton, Iowa, Rena (Mark) Grim of Bloomfield; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl (Darlene) Ritz of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Richard, Bennie, Keith and Royal Ritz; and a son-in-law, Evan Johnston.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastor David Albert officiating.  Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery in Appanoose County, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 9 am on Monday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established to the Taylor Cemetery.
