IRENE HARRIS SELIX
Moulton. IRENE PAULINE HARRIS SELIX, 91 of Moulton and former Davis County resident died August 10, 2010 at her home. She was born August 1, 1919 in Davis County, Iowa to Henry Marion and Iva Procter Roemerman. She married Robert Glen Harris February 12, 1939 in Nashua, Iowa. He died June 22, 1995. She married Francis Selix January 30, 1999 in Appanoose County, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a cook at the Moulton Udell School. She ran the Harris Grocery Store in Lancaster, Missouri. Irene was a member of the Orleans Church of Christ, the Hospital Auxilliary in Centerville, the Grandmother’s Club, was a volunteer at the Welcome Center in Bloomfield and enjoyed painting, quilting and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter Wilma (Louie) Zemo of Portland, Texas; 5 sons Robert Darrell (Claudia) Harris, Gary Dean (Judy) Harris and Dennis Glen (Jan) Harris all of Moulton, Iowa, Jerry Gene (Vivien) Harris of St. Paul, Missouri and Randy Lee (Nancy) Harris of Foley, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; a brother Don Roemerman; 3 sisters Martha Brown, Marjory Johnson and Leora Warrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; a brother Henry J. Roemerman; a sister Mary Alice Thompson; a daughter-in-law Sharon Harris and a great granddaughter Brookelynn Mitchel.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Orleans Church of Christ in Appanoose County, Iowa with Pastor Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will begin after 9 am Thursday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 pm. Memorials have been established to the Orleans Church of Christ and Mercy Hospice.
