Vera Shively
BLOOMFIELD: Vera Evelyn Shively, 81, of Bloomfield, Iowa died May 14, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born December 6, 1928 in Pulaski, Iowa to Isaac and Grace Walter Guinn. She married Frank A. Shively December 25, 1948 in Lancaster, Missouri. A resident of Bloomfield most of her life, she was a homemaker. Vera had a love for cooking, baking, and working outdoors with flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Bloomfield Eagles Club.
She is survived by her husband; 2 sons, Stan (Becky) Shively and Merle (Barbara) Shively both of Bloomfield; 3 grandsons, Stewart, Steve, and Scott Shively; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Leva Hill of Bloomfield, Merlene Oge of Dallas City, Illinois, Jacquetta Zemo of Centerville, Iowa; and 2 brothers, Rex Guinn of Bloomfield and Robert Guinn of Whitehall, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 8 brothers, Noel, Walter, Elton, Russell, Raymond “Jake”, Ronald, Merlen and Donald Guinn; and a sister in infancy.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 9am on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Drakesville United Methodist Church and the Davis County EMS.
