Christine Weede

BLOOMFIELD:  Christine L. Weede, 82, of Keokuk, Iowa and former resident of Davis County, Iowa died January 24, 2010 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.  She was born February 2, 1927 in Davis County, Iowa to Roy and Eva Christy Baker.  She married I.O. Weede January 13, 1945 in Bloomfield, Iowa.  He preceded her in death June 18, 2008.  Christine worked at the Davis County Hospital as a nurse’s aide for 28 years.  She was a member of the Stiles Christian Church and enjoyed sewing, crafts, and volunteering.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Kathy (Gene) Proctor of Keokuk, Iowa, Diana Jones of LeRoy, Illinois, Jane (J.) Cook of Jacksonville, Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Helen) Baker of Des Moines, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Christy of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son-in-law, Gary Jones.

Funeral services will be at 10am on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastors Matt Proctor, J. Cook, Justin Cook and Kramer Smith officiating.  Burial will be in the Inskeep Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 11am on Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 4-6pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Stiles Christian Church.
