Nettie Wilson
BLOOMFIELD: Nettie James Wilson, 96, of Bloomfield, Iowa died January 19, 2010 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born January 31, 1913 in Mt. Erie, Illinois to F.M. and Flora Dill James. She married Lloyd P. Wilson April 5, 1952 in Fairfield, Iowa. He preceded her in death October 20, 1998. She was a homemaker. Nettie was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir for 26 years and also taught Sunday school for many years. She received a life membership pin from the United Methodist Women in recognition of her loyalty to her church. She was a member of Chapter B PEO and was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine in Fairfield.
Nettie is survived by 2 step-sons, Lonny (Kay) Wilson of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Rick Wilson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 2 granddaughters, Sarah (Jeff) Rader of Clive, Iowa, Laura (Brandon) Fleener of Deerfield, Illinois; 2 great-granddaughters, Anna Rader and Quinn Fleener; and 5 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 3 sisters, Ruth Jones, Luella Wells, and Esther Sprag.
Funeral services will be at 11am on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Bloomfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa. Open visitation will be from 9am until 9pm on Friday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church.
