BLOOMFIELD: Brent Eugene Clancy, 55, of rural Bloomfield, Iowa died September 18, 2012 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was born July 26, 1957 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Lyle and Verna Willier Clancy. He married Nancy Cruikshank May 26, 1983 in Bloomfield. Brent worked for Musco Lighting as an electrical controls engineer. He was also a master electrician and electrical contractor. He was a member of the Sons of Union Veterans, the Davis County Guerrilla Raid Raid Society, was a board member of the Davis County Historical Society, and Inspector General of the Civil War Skirmish Association. He was a nine-time CWSA champion black powder target shooter. Brent was also a drag racing driver and enthusiasts as well as a devout Green Bay Packer Backer.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Lance W. Sprouse of New London, Iowa, Todd L. Sprouse of Bloomfield, Iowa; a granddaughter, Courtney Zook of Tucsan, Arizona; his mother, Verna Clancy of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; two brothers; and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 9:00 a.m. on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 4-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Davis County Guerrilla Raid Society.
