Barbara Kruzich

Barbara Jean Kruzich, 85, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on October 14, 2024 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born on January 14, 1939 in Centerville, Iowa to Emeric Joseph and Alice Pauline Watts Todey. On June 16, 1968 she married John Kruzich. He passed away on March 8, 2019. Barbara was a Registered Nurse. She started her career working at the hospital in Centerville, then was an instructor of the nursing program at Indian Hills Community College before working for the Davis County Hospital where she became the Director of Nursing. In 1989, John and Barbara moved to Branson, Missouri where she worked in home health until her retirement. After retiring, the couple spent many years traveling in their RV - mostly in the Southwest but her favorite trip was to Alaska. John and Barbara moved to Bloomfield in 2012 to be closer to family. Barbara loved spending time with her grand-children and great-grand-children and especially enjoyed watching their sporting events. She is survived by four daughters, Kathy (Roger) Porter of Bloomfield, Cindy Hewitt of Newton, Iowa, Amy (Scott) Dierks of Moberly, Missouri, Julie (James) Richardson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Glenn) Marshall, Jason (Sarah) Porter both of Bloomfield, Felicia (Kevin) McDonald of Colfax, Iowa, Justin (Marie) Hewitt of Newton, Iowa, Jacqueline and Jayci Richardson both of Colorado Springs; ten great-grandchildren, Kaden, Ella, Tucker, Rylee, Katelyn, Jase, Myli, Gabe, Grant, Gary; great-great-grandson, Beau; and two sisters, Carole (Rex) Irwin, Elaine Pasa both of Centerville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, James Todey; son-in-law, Gary Hewitt; and brother-in-law, Victor Pasa. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Father Ben Snyder officiating. No visitation is planned, instead the family will be gathering at the Bloomfield Country Club following the memorial service and all are invited. Burial of the cremated remains will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield at a later date. Memorials have been established to the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Bloomfield and the Davis County Dollars for Scholars.
