BLOOMFIELD: Craig Charles Scott, 47, of Bloomfield, Iowa died March 16, 2011 in Mahaska County, Iowa. He was born September 26, 1963 in Bloomfield to Charles Francis and Carolyn Sue Sullivan Scott. He married Kathi Weller September 2, 1983 in Bloomfield. Craig was an Engineer Technician for the Natural Resources Conservation Service and also worked for Snowman Snowplow in Bloomfield. He was Assistant Fire Chief for the Bloomfield Fire Department and was the Disaster Coordinator for Davis County. He served on the Bloomfield City Council, was a member of the Bloomfield Public Library Board, Davis County Day Care Board, Davis County Extension Board, past member of the Davis County Fair Board, a 4-H leader and a member of the Davis County Sheep Producers. Craig was also a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. He was an avid racecar fan, hunter, fisherman and enjoyed being outside helping his father at the farm. Most importantly, he was a loving dad and grandfather. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Angelia Scott of Bloomfield; a son, Aaron Scott of Bloomfield; a grandson, Blake Charles; his parents; three sisters, Cindy (Neal) Dirks of Knoxville, Iowa, Colleen (Kurt) Birchmier of Carlisle, Iowa, Chris (Mike) McClure of Bloomfield; a sister-in-law, Dee (Skip) Johnson of Bloomfield; a brother-in-law, Mikel Weller of Bloomfield; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew, Jacob Dirks. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Bloomfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin Gingerich and Ed Kamerick officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial of the cremains will be at the IOOF Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin after 9:00 a.m. on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 2-4:00 p.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be given to the memorial which will be established at a later date.
