Donna Luko

Donna Earlene Luko, 87, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on July 27, 2026, at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born on October 5, 1938, in rural Bloomfield, Iowa to Earl Kenneth and Marjorie Ellen Stevig Trachsel. She graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1956. On September 2, 1956, she married Clinton Hutchings, they were divorced in 1981. On June 16, 2001, she married David Luko in Bloomfield. Donna was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church where she served as Deacon for many years. She was a member of Chapter B PEO, a 50-year-member of Rose Chapter #552 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Past Matron’s Club, National Active and Retired Federal Employees, and her card club. Donna was employed by the Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia; the Gilfillan Clinic with Dr. Harry Mahannah in Bloomfield; and she retired from the USDA Farm Service Agency in Bloomfield after 24 years of service. She enjoyed walking, baking, and reading. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She attended many of their school and sports events over the years. Donna also enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states including trips to Canada and Mexico. Donna and Dave spent the month of January in Scottsdale, Sedona, and Phoenix, Arizona for 15 years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed watching them. She is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Terri (John) Noe of Adel, Iowa; son, Jay (Arlene Newell) Hutchings of Floris, Iowa; two step-sons, Ronald (LeAnn) Luko of Fairbanks, Alaska, Keith (Cindy) Luko of Knoxville, Iowa; granddaughter, Ashley (Andrew) Bergman of Waukee, Iowa; grandson, Ryan (Whitney) Noe of Clive, Iowa; step-granddaughter, Katie Standlee of Fairbanks, Alaska; three step-grandsons, Landon (Kristin) Luko of Knoxville, Trenton (Haley) Luko of Pensacola, Florida, Levi Luko of Knoxville; five great-grandchildren, Alex and Avery Bergman, Maverick, Miley, and Maddox Noe; three step-great-grandchildren, Maslin Standlee, Liam and Elijah Luko; sister, Jo (Ron) Boles of Ottumwa, Iowa; brother, Earl Trachsel of Pulaski, Iowa; six nieces; three nephews; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; infant sister, Janet Elaine; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Chuck Becker; sister-in-law and her husband, Lyndell and Norman Richardson; sister-in-law, Chris Trachsel; and brother-and-sister-in-law, Bill and Joy Luko. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastors Don Naftz and James Wakelin officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church.
