Betty Kline Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty Lorene Kline, 85, of Pulaski, Iowa passed away on May 31, 2022 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born September 15, 1936 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Cecil and Wilda Hoffman Downey. Betty graduated from Pulaski High School in 1954. She was married at the Pulaski Methodist Church on June 6, 1954 to LaVern Kline. Betty was a past Worthy Advisor of the Pulaski Rainbow for Girls, a member of the Pulaski Methodist Church, a member of the Pulaski Mother’s Club and a homemaker all of her married life. She enjoyed word search puzzles, going to Texas during the winter months, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 68 years; five children, Dixie (Stuart) Shelton of Stockton, Illinois, Curtis (Mona) Kline of Ankeny, Iowa, Todd (Shari) Kline of Goodman, Missouri, Brenda (Jack) Mincks of Mitchellville, Iowa, Rhonda (Tim) Davis of Slater, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, Travis (Sarah) Shelton, Chad (Kendra) Shelton, Trent (Chika Kusakawa) Shelton, Leah (Justin) Preisser, Tara (Rob) Carter, Jessica (Kyle) Ragusin, Brandon (Mandy) Kline, Meghan (Sean) Steele, Shannon (Kaisha) Kline, Ryan (Natalie) Mincks, Adam Mincks, Ashley (Barret) Hoppenworth, Tanner (fiancé Lindsey Gray) Davis; 24 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles “Butch” (Betty) Downey of Wayzata, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Carolyn Baughman. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Donna Olinger officiating. Burial will be at the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski, Iowa. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Heartland Humane Society in Ottumwa, Iowa or the Pulaski Fire Department.
