Charlotte Hougland

Charlotte Diann Hougland, 79, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on March 21, 2022 at her home. She was born on October 28, 1942 in Milton, Iowa to Lowell and Opal Bullock Hall. She married James Hougland on October 9, 1960 in Scotland County, Missouri. Charlotte was a waitress at R Place in Bloomfield and then at Ted’s Pizza in Bloomfield for 25 years. Spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed visiting with people and having company over to the house. Charlotte also enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, and bowling with her husband. She bowled in a league at the Davis County Lanes for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her husband, James; three sons, Kevin (Kristi) Hougland of Bloomfield, Steven Hougland of Bloomfield, Brian Hougland of Jefferson City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Tasha Reyes of Ottumwa, Iowa, Tera (Adam Cramer) Hougland of Ankeny, Iowa, Kaylee (Dave Cody) Johnson of Albia, Iowa, Randi Claahsen of Nebraska, Thomas Hougland of Jefferson City, Missouri; eleven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Mary Lee Cole of San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, L. Dewayne Hall, Doug Hall. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Dee Wiley officiating. Burial will be at the Barker Cemetery in Scotland County, Missouri at a later date. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials have been established to the Look to the Stars Cancer Foundation in Bloomfield, EveryStep Hospice in Centerville, Iowa, and the Barker Cemetery.
