Dale Lavern Taylor, 80, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on May 27, 2022 at his home. He was born on July 5, 1941 in Coatesville, Missouri to Robert L. and Wilma Harsh Taylor. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1959. Dale married Eileen Allen on May 27, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They had two children, Leisa and Lonnie. Dale was a farmer, ran a machine shop where he fixed tractors and farm machinery, served on the Davis County Board of Supervisors from 2004-2016, and was the Archer Oil District Director. His love for Davis County is evident in how many organizations he served as a board member on over the years including; Davis County Fair Board, Pioneer Cemeteries, Davis County Classic Tractors, Davis County Development Corporation, and Davis County Courthouse Preservation. Dale was also involved in 4-H, the Bloomfield Welcome Center, Davis County Democrat Party, and the Davis County Historical Society. He was baptized at a young age and a current member of Bloomfield Christian Church. His passing will leave a void in his community that he so deeply cherished. Dale enjoyed being with family most of all. Dale was a very social person and enjoyed talking to people. He also enjoyed going to tractor shows, working on tractors, going camping, camping at the Iowa State Fair, and cooking with the Cattlemen. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Taylor; children, Leisa (Jeff) Schuzer of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Lonnie (Carol) Taylor of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, Dexter (Fiancée Michaela) Schuzer, John (Bre) Schuzer, Christa (Mike) Kingsbury, Alyssa (Bjorn) Bagnall, Kayla Taylor, Riley (Brianna) Newton, Dillon (Daylin) Newton; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Keith (Louise) Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Donna (John) Rempe of Eddyville, Iowa, Delbert (Carolyn) Taylor of Bloomfield; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet cat, Buddie. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Bloomfield Christian Church with Rev. Leslie Dotson and Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Memorials have been established to the Davis County Fair Board, Bloomfield Christian Church, and Good Samaritan Hospice.
