Davy Davis, 83, of Floris, Iowa passed away on August 28, 2020 at his home. He was born March 19, 1937 in Davis County to Winfield Scott and Amy Beatrice Hawkins Davis. He graduated from Bloomfield High School and married Bonnie M. Smith on September 25, 1957. Davy worked for John Murrell in Ottumwa until the plant shut down and then he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for the remainder of his career. Davy was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and mushroom hunt. He was very family oriented and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Davis; four children, Suzi (Jim) Benge of Floris, Davy (Ronda) Davis Jr. of Bloomfield, Dustin (Sonya) Davis of Floris, Debbie (Bryan) Owens of Las Vegas, Nevada; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Davis; brother; and four sisters. Davy’s wish was to be cremated. A memorial dinner will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Floris Community Hall. All are invited to attend.
