Hal Edward Neal Jr., 65, of rural Drakesville, Iowa passed away on March 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 26, 1955 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Hal and Edna Bell Neal Sr. He graduated from Ottumwa High School and Indian Hills Community College. On May 17, 1975 he married the love of his life, Rosetta Clark. Hal was a tool and die maker, machinist, and welder. He worked for Fisher Control in Marshalltown, Iowa and Wortmann Machine and Welding in Bloomfield. Hal enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and messing around with ham radios. He will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Neal; daughter, Kelly (Jeremy Sloan) Neal of Drakesville; three grandchildren, Codi Neal of Drakesville, Destiny Barker of Ottumwa, Mercedes Barker of Drakesville; and a great-grandson, Legend Roberts-Neal. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Neal; and three sisters, Kay Kendricks, Shirley Brown, and Mary Kay Neal. Hal’s wish was to be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to his family and may be mailed to 13395 Jewel Ave., Drakesville, Iowa 52552.
