September 23, 1965 - February 19, 2021
Lila ReNea Waller, 55, of rural Bloomfield, Iowa passed away due to breast cancer on February 19, 2021 at 9:43 p.m. at her home surrounded by family. She was born September 23, 1965 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Kenneth and Lois Shilling Summers. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1984. A year later she married the love of her life, Keith Eugene Waller, on July 3, 1985 at the Bloomfield Christian Church. Lila worked as a secretary for Waller’s Water Wagons, Robertson Electric, KW Electric, and Waller’s Black Angus which were all family businesses. She was the proud wife of the Floris Fire Department Chief, a farmer’s wife who enjoyed taking care of the farm animals, a homemaker, and most importantly a mother. Her home was always open for family, friends, and countless “adopted” children. The spare bedrooms and dining room table was always filled. Her house was the one with all the kids, all the best snacks, and a whole lot of love. Time at home with her family was precious. She loved her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible. She loved camping, fishing, boating, a full house, her tight knit family, and spending summer weekends on Skunk River camping with family and friends. She could be counted on to cook family dinners and lasting memories were always a part of a visit to her home. She is survived by her husband, Keith Waller; five children, Becky Perdew, Matt (Kirstie) Waller, Justin Garmon, Miranda (C.J.) Blakely, Austin White; five grandchildren, Landon, Owen, Kelly, Chloe, Kaylynn; siblings, Pete (Sheila) Butler and family, Mike Jackson and family, Darrell (Sherry) Jackson and family, Kendina (Danny) McAntire and family, Kenny Jr. (Anne) Summers, Margie Summers and family, Shag (Her twin) Summers; two aunts, Nylene Shilling, Jan Summers; uncle Bill Shilling; and many extended family members. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Jason Summers officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a procession to the Floris Baptist Church where there will be a funeral reception for everyone to attend. Her wish was to be cremated following services and burial will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Cemetery just south of her family farm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Sherman Chapel Church.
