Louise Mincks

December 17, 1936 - January 24, 2022

Louise Mincks passed away peacefully January 24, 2022 at the age of 85. Louise JoAnn Parker was born December 17, 1936 in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Harry and Mary Sutton Parker. She married Jack Ugene Mincks on May 15, 1955. They had four children, Timothy (Tim), Jack, Mary, and Robert (Bob). Jack Sr. passed away in 2008. Louise graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1955. In addition to being a homemaker and helping Jack on the farm, she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Davis County Hospital from 1968-1983. She then worked for Tenco, a residential house for special needs adults. Louise spent the last several years of her career staying with elderly people so they could stay in their own homes. Louise loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and cooking, collecting and reading books, and going to thrift stores. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends and never met a stranger. She is survived by three children, Jack (Brenda) Mincks of Mitchellville, Iowa, Mary (Jim Spencer) Russell of Moravia, Iowa, Bob (Patricia) Mincks of Bloomfield; nine grandchildren, Ann (Moneer Al Azzawi) Mincks, Philip (Maureen) Mincks, Laura (James) Brecht, Ryan (Natalie) Mincks, Adam Mincks, Bill (Amy) Russell, Joe Russell, Amy Bashiru, Brittany (Chris) Peiffer; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ira Mincks, Dalton and Leah Simmons, Jacob Pennington, Madison Russell, Alaya Flores, Matthew Peiffer; daughter-in-law, Lois Mincks of Columbus Junction, Iowa; and a sister, Wilma Veatch. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Tim Mincks in 2016; and four siblings, Vivian Cheek, Delton Parker, Carol Snyder, and her twin sister, Lois Wintermote. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Leslie Dotson officiating. The funeral will be live streamed on the Wagler Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be at the Drakesville Cemetery in Drakesville, Iowa. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the family to be designated at a later date.
