Midge Hendricks

Mildred "Midge" Mae Hendricks, 83, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on February 1, 2022 at her home. She was born on December 11, 1938 in Davis County, Iowa to Carl Raymond and Cora Mae Bales Spurgeon. She married Billy Bolick on September 14, 1958 and they later divorced. On August 7, 1981 she married Donald Hendricks. Donald passed away in 2002. Midge worked at the Gilfillan Clinic as a nurse for 25 years. She enjoyed working in the yard when Don and her lived on the farm, riding horses with Don, cooking, doing crafts, and fishing. She loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Troy Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Brian (Manda) Bolick of West Des Moines, Iowa; daughter, Sherri Hughes of Bloomfield; grandson, Kyle (Raleke) Hughes of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sister, Betty (Dwight) Goben of Ottumwa, Iowa; sister-in-law, Pauline Spurgeon of Missouri; two nieces; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and a brother, Bob Spurgeon. Midge's wish was to be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Donna Olinger officiating. No visitation is planned.
