Deb Taylor

Debra Ann Taylor, 64, of Bloomfield, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends, after fighting a long and courageous battle. She faced every day with grace, joy, and an unwavering positive spirit—always smiling, always finding light in even the hardest moments. Born on September 26, 1960, in Kirksville, Missouri, Deb was the cherished daughter of George Max Leyda and the late Shirley Davison Leyda. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Denny Taylor on July 20, 1979 in Davis County. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in love, faith, and the simple joys of farm life. This year would have marked their 46th wedding anniversary. Deb was a woman of remarkable talents and endless creativity. She was an avid golfer, a gifted quilter, and a master of sewing and embroidery. Her passion took shape in her small business, Taylor Made, where she poured love and care into every creation. Whether watching her grandchildren play sports, taking ranger rides around the farm with Denny, or laughing with her beloved card club, Deb embraced life fully and joyfully. She was a proud and active member of the Bloomfield Country Club, Open Bible Church, DC Embroider Club, and many community circles. Wherever she went, Deb brought warmth, kindness, and strength. Deb was a devoted mother to Nathan (Brittiny) Taylor of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Danielle (Steve) Harris of Altoona, Iowa. Her greatest joy was being Grandma to Maximus and Caroline Taylor, and Sophia and Gracin Harris. She held a deep love for her nieces and nephews—Jalen and Faith Nelson, Maela, Anna, and Jordan Parsons—whom she treated like her own grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband, Denny Taylor; father, George Max (Jeanie) Leyda; two sisters, Angela (Justin “Judd”) Nelson, Jessica (Scott) Parsons; as-well-as extended family members and dear friends who were forever touched by her selflessness, laughter, and love. Deb was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Leyda, and her brother, Ricky Leyda. Deb’s legacy is one of love, faith, joy, creativity, and quiet strength. Her life was a beautiful example of grace and positivity, and she will be deeply missed and “seriously” forever remembered by all who knew her. A celebration of life visitation for Deb will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Bloomfield Country Club. Deb’s wish was to be cremated and a private family burial will be held at a later date at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Look to the Stars Cancer Foundation in Bloomfield.
