Jean Rupe

Jean Francis Rupe, 78, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on June 8, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on July 16, 1946 in California to Eugene Raymond and Dorothy Helen Francis Siligo. Jean was later adopted by her stepfather, Lloyd Oliver White. She attended Davis County High School, graduating with the class of 1964. On August 23, 1968 she married Roger “Pete” Rupe in Davis County. The couple raised two children, Jeff and Jennifer. They would later divorce. Jean worked as an operating room technician at the Davis County Hospital for 37 years, retiring in 1997. Jean was a people person and loved talking with people so she did not stay retired for long. She worked at Morgan’s Pit Stop, J’s One Stop, North End Grill, and Southfork Restaurant before officially retiring due to her health. She had many hobbies including playing cards, badminton, BINGO, and taking casino trips. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Jeff (Kelly) Rupe of Ankeny, Iowa; daughter, Jennifer (Stu) Picton of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Jeff (Laura) Reed, Ben Rupe, Madison (Kirk Hopkins) Snyder, Morgan (Walker) Henderson, Luke Snyder; in 2023 she gained eight additional grand-children, Cole (Cassandra) Picton, Wyatt (Emily) Picton, Tori (Eli) Cox, Maison Picton, Tallis Picton, Zayne Picton, Nevie Picton, Josh Picton; six great-grandchildren, Delaney Reed, Emelia Reed, Lola Picton, Waylon Picton, Hazel Picton, Blake Cox; two sisters, Mary White, Carmela Parcel both of Tucson, Arizona; and a niece, Heather Julseth of Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; and a sister, Kate Siligo. Jean’s wish was to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rhonda Eakins officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery following the service. Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Look to the Stars Cancer Foundation in Davis County and to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
