Marge Harris

Margaret “Marge” Ann Harris, 79, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Her brother, Don, was by her side in her final moments, offering comfort and love on behalf of the family. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Marge was known for her practical nature, quick wit, and quiet strength. She met Jimmie “Jim” Harris while attending college in Kirksville, Missouri, and the two were married shortly thereafter. Their marriage was built on mutual respect, shared values, and a deep love for family and friends. Jim, who passed away in November 2022, was a proud Iowa native and U.S. Army National Guard veteran. He had a passion for photography, Corvettes, and country music - interests that Marge embraced wholeheartedly as part of their life together. Whether traveling to Corvette club events, exploring places like Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe with friends, or simply enjoying music on the back patio, Marge and Jim lived fully and side by side. Their partnership was grounded, genuine, and admired by all who knew them. Marge had a sharp memory, kept everyone up to date, and never missed a birthday or important moment. She stayed engaged, organized, and deeply committed to the people in her life - traits that defined her role not only as a mother and sister but also as a friend. Together, Marge and Jim built a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty - one that lives on in the lives of those who knew them best. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Allen and Amelia Hyman; and her brother Harold Hyman and his wife, Frances. Marge is survived by her two sons, David (Christine) Harris of Concord, NC, and Brian (Erin) Harris of Franklinton, NC; and by her brother, Don Hyman (Cathy) of Broken Arrow, OK. She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, caring sister, and loyal friend. Private services will be held, and Marge will be laid to rest beside her husband in Bloomfield, Iowa.
