Megan Bailey

Megan Adelle Bailey, 45, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on February 16, 2022 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born on July 14, 1976 in Bloomfield to John Rodney and Mary Metcalf Thompson. She graduated from Davis County High School in 1994 and later from Indian Hills Community College. She worked at Community 1st Credit Union in Ottumwa for 20 years. Megan married Scott Bailey on September 5, 1998 at the Bloomfield Christian Church. The couple has two daughters, Amber and Sadie. Megan poured her heart and soul into her family. She loved going to her daughter’s events and was always their biggest fan. She also loved to travel, work in the yard with Scott, and play with their dog, Finn. She was ornery, sassy, and certainly the boss. Megan loved life, had the best laugh, could turn junk into something beautiful, and was always up for a girl’s weekend with Sadie and Amber, her mother, nieces, aunt, and sister. Her life has left many memories that her family and friends will cherish forever. She is survived by her husband, Scott Bailey; two daughters, Amber (Samuel Miller) Bailey of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Sadie (Will Farley) of Bloomfield; beloved Corgi, Finn; parents, Wayne and Mary Rogers of Bloomfield; parents-in-law, Dean and Kristie Bailey of Bloomfield; brother, Rodney (Melony) Thompson of Bloomfield; sister, Nikki (Adam) Davis of Bloomfield; brother-in-law, Curtis Bailey of Boone, Iowa; three nephews, Brody Thompson, Maks Davis, Dylan Bailey; two nieces, Avery Thompson, Stella Davis; grandmother-in-law, Arvida Jones; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, John Thompson; grandparents, William and Virginia Metcalf, William Bailey, Marvin and Mildred Wilkinson, Frances Jones; and an uncle, Jay Whisler. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor R.J. Montis officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at noon on Monday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to her family.
