RoseMary Miller

RoseMary Miller, 92, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away April 9, 2025 at her home with her family present. She was born on June 15, 1932 in Bloomfield to O. Wayne and Lucille Ware Harris. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1950. After graduation she worked at the Savings Bank in Bloomfield then went to work at the newly opened Davis County Hospital in the accounting department. RoseMary married Robert L. Miller, her high school sweetheart, on December 3, 1950 at the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. They held each other in love for 62 years until he passed away in 2012. Together the couple raised a daughter, Diana Lynn (Stan) McClure of Bloomfield, and two sons, Daniel Robert Miller and David Miller who both reside in Bloomfield as well. RoseMary and Bob both enjoyed following and cheering for their children’s activities as they grew up in Bloomfield. All activities were attended by both and RoseMary made sure that all the friends were welcome in their home and fed before games and dances. After taking a break from the working world to raise and support her children, RoseMary went back to work in the 1970’s; first at Seifert’s Clothing and then Union Bank (Currently US Bank) in Ottumwa, Iowa. She worked at Union Bank for 28 years as a teller and opened the bank many mornings to set up the new computers for the day that were being introduced into the bank. In RoseMary’s spare time and in retirement she loved to play Bridge. She was very good at it; that “accountant mind” was sharp as a tack. While still able, she loved to golf and spend time with her dear friend, Darlene. She is survived by a daughter, Diana (Stan) McClure of Bloomfield; two sons, Danny Miller, David Miller both of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, Nate (Brittany) McClure of Bloomfield, Nick (Colin) McClure of Clermont, Florida, Jared Miller of West Branch, Iowa, Blake (Kiya) Miller of Sioux City, Iowa, Kurtis (Lexie) Miller of Altoona, Iowa, Brooke Miller of Ottumwa, Iowa, Brad (Cassie) Miller of Drakesville, Iowa; and ten great-grandchildren, Addison McClure, Myah McClure, Clark Miller, Beau Miller, Austin Porter, Kazin Miller, Avalyn Finley, Silas, Jaxon Miller, and Huxton Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. RoseMary’s wish was to be cremated with a private family burial at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. There will be a visitation at the Wagler Funeral Home on Monday, May 19, 2025 starting at 10:00 a.m. with the family present to greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until Noon. A memorial has been established to Davis County Dollars for Scholars.
