Wilma Good

Wilma Jean Good, 94, went to the Heavens to be with her loved ones January 11, 2024, at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, Iowa. Wilma was born to Raymond and Ruth Duley Wilfawn on November 27, 1929, in Moulton, Iowa. She and her parents along with brother Don, moved many times during WWII. Her father worked in ammo factories in several towns in Iowa. On July 20, 1946, she married Charles Good. They lived shortly with Charles’ parents, and in that short time they lost three sons at birth. Dennis was a stillbirth in 1946. The twin sons, Terry and Perry, died August 17, 1947. The three babies were buried in the IOOF Cemetery beside great-grandparents Ed and Stella Good. Four more children came to them later, leaving a legacy of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Rod (Mary Ann) Good of Cumming, Iowa, Ed (Vicki) Good of Bloomfield, Iowa, Janet (Dave) Delzell of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Brenda (Rob) Williams of Bloomfield, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Wade (Shanna) Good of Bloomfield, Iowa, Alexis (Steve) Breitsprecher, Brent (Brenda Kay) Good of Bloomfield, Iowa, Leslie Mineart of Earlham, Iowa, Tom Delzell of Bloomfield, Iowa, Wes (Jennifer) Delzell of Corpus Cristi, Texas, Stacy (James) LaBeff of Bullard, Texas, Randell (Wes) Aeschliman of Albia, Iowa, Josh (Kelsey) Williams of Bloomfield, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Charlie Mineart, Coty Good, Nash Good, Calee (Jacob) Justice, Tucker Justice, Koleen Good, Joel Wilbourne, James Wilbourne, Westin Wilbourne, Clay Hamaker, Augusta Hamaker, Oliver Aeschliman, Toby Aeschliman, Rory Aeschliman, Daxton Williams, Waiks Williams, Marcus Delzell, Aden Delzell, Ethan Delzell, Julian Medina, Austen Medina, Porter LaBeff, Eli LaBeff, Olivia LaBeff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Good; three baby boys; and daughter, Janet Delzell of Bloomfield, Iowa. Wilma had a strong love and work ethic, working side by side with her husband on their century farm. Most people probably didn’t realize when she married Charlie, she knew nothing about farm life. Her kind neighbor lady and lifelong best friend, Olive Jones, showed her the way. She taught her how to garden, plant flowers and to bottle feed the baby animals. She and Olive spent many days fishing at their ponds, antiquing, ditch digging, and mushroom hunting. More than anything, Wilma loved her grandkids. She spent 30 years waiting for them to get off the school bus. She and Charlie loved to dance in the early years. Wilma and Charlie traveled to Fort Madison and Sidney to watch the rodeos until Bloomfield brought their rodeo to town. Then they spent countless hours helping Ed feed rodeo stock and cleaning the arena. Charlie and Wilma loved going to watch the grandkids perform in rodeo competitions and went to as many ball games as possible. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Her cremated remains will be scattered on the family farm at a later date. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials have been established to the Fort Bloomfield Rodeo and County Conservation McGowan Farm.
